The Challenge

With the Smart Phone market exploding, Longcheer , an independent high tech enterprise engaged in the research and development of handheld mobile terminals, decided to develop its own multi-function platform, the S100.

In designing the S100, Longcheer wanted to be able to deliver the features and functions expected in Smart Phones by using a standardized platform, while keeping development costs low and achieving a fast time to market.

The Solution

Trolltech’s Qtopia Phone Edition provided an efficient, easy-to-use Linux-based user interface and a robust development framework. Additionally, Trolltech delivered highly effective documentation and training for the product that enabled engineers to initiate development rapidly.
