Sony

In February 2008, Sony launched the second generation of its mylo™ personal communicator. The Sony mylo is a portable "broadband" communication device with a 3.5 inch touch-screen for music, photos, video, web browsing, instant messaging and more. The first generation device was launched during the 2nd half of 2006 and both generations are using Trolltech's software.

Motorola

Motorola, a global leader in integrated communications and embedded electronics solutions, has chosen Qt for Embedded Linux for many of their Linux-based mobile phones, including:  MOTOROKR Z6, MOTOROKR E6, MOTOROKR E2, MOTOMING A1200 (photo on right), A680, E680, A780, A760 and A768.

Royal Philips Electronics

Royal Philips Electronics, one of the world’s biggest electronics companies and Europe’s largest, is the winner of the iF Design Award 2006 for the Trolltech technology-based VP 5500 Home Video Phone, a wireless video solution for domestic use. The product receives and sends real time video to your friends and family wireless with your handset. The user can see and share video calls on TV. The design focuses on 3 main contexts of use: face to face conversations show a moment and be part of an event. The follow-up model, VP6500, also running a Qtopia based software stack, is already in shipment.

Panasonic

Panasonic, one of the largest electronic product manufacturers in the world, chose to use Trolltech's platform to power its KX-WP1050 Wi-Fi phone for Skype™, the popular Voice Over IP communications service that allows point-to-point calling around the world. This model comes as part of an Executive Travel Set with travel router, which allows the user to create Wi-Fi hotspots whenever there is a broadband internet connection available. This new model offers the range and security of WPA encrypted Wi-Fi technology, as well as Quality of Service (QoS) to improve voice quality. It features an easy menu-driven operation, and a loud handset speakerphone, as well as a built-in headset jack for those long international calls. More 

Wistron NeWeb Corporation

WNC is among the world's largest ODM companies producing ICT products, which has successfully produced Qtopia-based Wi-Fi devices. Brand name D-Link (photo to right) and French MVNO Neuf have distributed WNC's dual-mode Wi-Fi/GSM phone. Also, in WNC's Wi-Fi phone product portfolio are their up and coming Skype Wi-Fi phones.

Accton

Accton, the global premier provider of networking and communications solutions for top tier networking, computer, and telecommunications vendors, chose Qtopia as its development platform for building Wi-Fi enabled and SIP-based devices. Accton’s Wi-Fi phone for Skype has been selected by connectivity solutions global leader, Belkin (photo to right) and also ships under SMC and other brand names.

digitalCube

South Korean digitalCube, leading exporter of flash memory based digital audio players, chose Trolltech's platform to build its i-Station T43 portable media player. The T43 has a 4.3" 480 x 272 pixel resolution screen, which plays MPEGs, Xvids, DivX and other formats. It also has a DMB broadcast tuner and GPS.

Yukyung Technologies

Trolltech's development platform was used to develop Yukyung’s Viliv P2 PMP. This portable media player a 4.3-inch screen, 4-7 hour battery life, TV-out, GPS navigation, voice recording, 20 or 30 GB hard drive and runs off of Linux or Windows CE 5.0. Viliv P2 supports MP3, WMA, OGG, AC3, SCM, WAV, AIFF, AAC, XviD, MPEG-1, 2, 4, ASF, WMV 7, 8 and 9.

Amoi

Amoi Mobile, a major manufacturer of GSM/GPRS handsets, produced the Amoi E600 which is based on the Cellon C8000 platform developed with Qtopia. The Cellon tri-band GSM/GPRS C8000 platform is the backbone for a true smartphone offering full multimedia capabilities, including a media player, 2 mega-pixel video and still camera with TV output function. The Amoi phone features a QVGA touchscreen and innovative keypad design, aimed at the demanding Chinese market.

Quanta Computer

Quanta Computer’s new IP videophone YE7 is based on a Linux operating system and uses Trolltech's software. The YE7 is a SIP based Video Phone and enables users to browse the web while videoconferencing or making calls. Its applications include: Icon based Graphical User Interface, Shared Whiteboard, Personal Information Management, E-Mail Client, Web Browser, Photo/Image Viewer/Editor, Hand Written Recognition (optional), Multi-lingual Display/Input Support, Instant Messenger and Address book.

ZTE

Longcheer

One of China’s largest ODM’s, Longcheer selected Qtopia Phone Edition as their development platform for their Linux-based mobile phone products. The latest Qtopia-based device is their HTW V668 GSM/GPRS smartphone known in the Chinese market as the 'Stock-dealing mobile phone', which can be used for on-line stock transactions. This user-friendly smartphone has multiple input methods including touch screen and also provides STK, WAP, contact management, email, SMS and camera. The HTW V668 started shipping in April 2007.

Amino

Amino Communications, supplier of the AmiNET™ series of high performance IPTV set-top boxes and gateways, have integrated Qt for Embedded Linux on their Aminet100 series of Set-Top Boxes. The AmiNET110, for example, is their compact and elegant premium MPEG-2 Set-Top Box for IPTV and video on demand applications.

ROAD

The handyPC, based on Qtopia Phone Edition, unites the best of mobile phone & mobile computing worlds with a standard form factor of a business mobile telephone together with palm-sized notebook functionality. Based on Linux, the open software architecture enables straightforward integration into existing IT infrastructures.

Bury

The naviflash 1020 is an in-car navigation (GPS) system, in which Bury GmbH used Qt for Embedded Linux as the application platform for building the user interface. It offers multiple language selections, a transflective color display (320 x 240 pixels), a completely integrated TMC receiver and decoder. Based on the Intel® XScale processor, it has a memory of 64 MByte RAM and 64 MByte Flash.

Archos

Archos, a global consumer electronics manufacturer and leader in portable digital entertainment solutions, builds their Linux-based multimedia devices in the Trolltech development environment. The first pocket-sized device was the PMA 400 with 30GB HDD. Combining full video and audio capabilities with wireless connectivity, it is one of the most versatile audio and video recorder and players on the market. PMA400 users can record directly from TV, listen to music, browse the Internet and stay connected, for entertainment or productivity anytime, anywhere. Following that was the Archos 404 and 604 then the Archos 604 WiFi, which is a slim, large screen portable media player supporting all standard video formats in full DVD resolution.

Kangaroo TV

Kangaroo TV used Trolltech's application platform to develop a graphical user interface (GUI) for a handheld device that enhances the fan sporting experience. The GUI is part of a service that captures live video, audio and real-time data and broadcasts it to the device putting fans in the middle of the sporting action.

Today, Kangaroo TV is offered by Sprint as the NASCAR NEXTEL FanView™. The device is available for rent during NASCAR NEXTEL Cup series race weekends. The device can be used for a variety of sporting events such as football, professional golfing and baseball.

Fluke Networks

Fluke Networks chose Qt for Embedded Linux to build the EtherScope™ Series II Network Assistant . This handheld network analyzer is intended to help network technicians and administrators install, maintain, and troubleshoot 10/100/gigabit enterprise networks. The EtherScope can quickly map, scan, and test live copper-based Ethernet LANs for configuration, wiring, and other problems.
