Amoi phone built on Cellon's - based handset design

3GSM WORLD CONGRESS, 14 February - 2006 - Trolltech®, a leading provider of technologies that makes advanced software faster to build and easier to use, today announced that its Qtopia® software for Linux-based mobile phones can now be found in Cellon International's newest C8000 series handset design for Amoi. Cellon International, the world's largest independent design house for wireless devices, has used Qtopia to build, customize and extend the Linux-based software applications and graphical user interface (GUI) for the C8000.

The Amoi E600 phone is one more major vendor to ship mobile phones based on the C8000 platform. "At Trolltech, our goal is to empower continuous, efficient product innovation", says Trolltech CEO, Haavard Nord. "By producing yet another high quality phone in the market, Cellon's C8000 platform demonstrates the flexibility Qtopia is designed to offer."

The Cellon tri-band GSM/GPRS C8000 platform is the backbone for a true smartphone offering full multimedia capabilities, including a media player, 2 mega-pixel video and still camera with TV output function. The Amoi phone features a QVGA touchscreen and innovative keypad design, aimed at the demanding Chinese market

Trolltech: Bringing Linux to Mobile Devices
