The Qtopia Phone Edition - Open Source is a complete package of the Qtopia Phone Edition source code. It includes an extensive source code for Qtopia applications and libraries.

Licensing & Intended Use

These files are for Open Source use only. If you are a commercial developer then please go to the commercial Qtopia evaluation page and apply for a supported evaluation instead.

With the Qtopia Phone Edition - Open Source you can use support provided by the community at qtopia.net. Commercial support and warranty from Trolltech is only available with the commercial licensing variants.

The Qtopia Phone Edition - Open Source is provided under the GNU General Public License v2.0. This specifies that you may freely use the Qtopia Phone Edition - Open Source for:

• Development of open source/non-proprietary software that is also released under the GPL license.
• Compiling and running GPL software developed by others.
• Devices built with the Qtopia Phone Edition - Open Source may be freely distributed, provided the source code is supplied along with the device. Modified versions of the Qtopia Open Source Edition can also be copied, put on FTP sites and CD-ROMs, etc. This is entirely different from devices built with Qtopia Commercial Editions, which is protected by all of the laws protecting intellectual property.
