VLC media player
The popular cross-platform media player and streaming server, VLC, is built using Qt.
- Qt provided a cross-platform GPL compatible GUI library with good Linux and Windows support.
We opted for Qt since its designer software looked quite powerful and easy to use and felt that native C++ support seemed to be a better choice than plain C or a C++ wrapper to a C library. VLC 0.9.2 is the first official release for Windows and Linux to ship with that new GUI and we've been receiving mostly positive feedback from our users."
