Announcing the Qt WebKit Integration

Trolltech’s Qt WebKit Integration brings Web 2.0 services to mobile phones

Helps mobile operators and handset manufacturers enrich phone applications with live web content such as online maps, music stores and instant messaging

What is the Qt WebKit Integration?

The Qt WebKit Integration is an integration of WebKit the open source web browser engine fork of KHTML from the KDE project, used by companies such as Apple®, Google and Nokia with the Qt cross-platform development framework.  Using the WebKit Integration, Qt developers can:

  • Blend web and local content and services in a single rich application
  • Rapidly create applications that incorporate real-time web content and services
  • Use HTML and Java Script integrated in native code to develop highly advanced user interfaces faster than ever before
  • Maintain complete control of the browser environment, guaranteeing a consistent web-enriched user interface across operating systems and devices

The WebKit Open Source Project is a thriving community of developers whose stated goals for the project include standards-compliance, stability, performance, security, cross-platform portability and usability.
